Which Holy Stone Drone Should You Buy?
If you’re just beginning your drone journey, I’d recommend going for an affordable mini drone that’s suitable for beginners. Trust me, you’ll appreciate this choice.
When you’re starting out, there’s a good chance you might crash it a few times – it’s all part of the learning process.
With a mini drone, you won’t have to worry about breaking or damaging it. Plus, it’s easier on your budget too!
Once you get comfortable with flying your mini drone, you’ll find that operating bigger drones becomes much easier. Your basic skills will be well-established, and you won’t face any difficulties flying a more expensive drone later on.
It’s similar to learning to ride a bike – once you know how, you can easily adapt to different bikes!
With your newfound skills, you can fly those advanced drones confidently, knowing you’ve mastered the basics.
That said, if you already have a bit of drone flying experience, you can go with higher models of Holy Stone with advanced features.
Key Takeaway: Please remember that, although Holy Stone is a good drone brand in general, they are not a very well known brand as professional grade drones. For that, I would recommend you go with the expensive DJI drone models that have high-end features and high-definition cameras.

Factors To Consider When Buying A Drone
Now before you take the plunge of purchasing the drone, there are also some key factors to consider. Let me break it down for you, so you can make an informed decision.
Flight Time:
One of the first things you’ll want to think about is how long your drone can stay in the air. Generally, flight times range from 10 to 30 minutes. Keep in mind, the longer the flight time, the more expensive the drone. So, think about your needs and budget, and find a sweet spot that works for you.
Flight Range:
Another important aspect is the flight range – how far your drone can fly from the remote controller. This can vary from a few hundred feet to several miles. If you’re just starting out, a shorter range is okay, but as you get more experienced, you might want a drone with a greater range.
Battery:
Batteries are crucial for keeping your drone in the air. It’s a good idea to have a spare battery or two, so you can swap them out and extend your flight time. Remember, though, that bigger batteries can be heavier, which might affect the drone’s performance.
Camera:
Are you planning to capture stunning aerial photos and videos? If so, the camera quality is definitely something to consider. Look for drones with high-resolution cameras and features like gimbal stabilization for smooth, shake-free footage.
Weight:
The weight of your drone matters, especially if you plan on travelling with it. Heavier drones can be more stable in windy conditions, but they might be harder to carry around. Lightweight drones are more portable but could be less steady in the air.
Weight is also crucial if you just want a drone for fun and don’t want it to be registered – Because according to regulations, you need to register your drone with the FAA if it’s more than 250 grams.
I highly suggest checking out my article where I share the top drones under 250 grams with detailed review.
GPS:
A drone with GPS is a game-changer. It can help with stable hovering, return to home features, and even autonomous flight modes. If you’re serious about flying, it’s definitely worth considering a drone with GPS capabilities.
Other Features:
Finally, think about any additional features you might want, such as obstacle avoidance, follow-me mode, or even foldable designs for easy transportation.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It And Why:
Now, let’s take a look at three reasons why someone shouldn’t buy the Holy Stone HS210 Drone:
- Advanced users: If you’re an experienced drone pilot, then the HS210 drone may not be challenging enough for you. It’s designed for beginners and has limited features, making it a bit too simplistic for advanced users.
- Outdoor enthusiasts: If you’re looking for a drone that you can fly outside, then the HS210 drone may not be the best option. It’s lightweight, making it susceptible to wind, and the battery life is relatively short, limiting how far you can fly it.
- Camera enthusiasts: The HS210 drone doesn’t come with a camera, so if you’re looking for a drone to capture aerial footage, then you’ll need to look elsewhere. The lack of a camera means you won’t be able to take pictures or videos while flying, which is a significant drawback for some people.

But here in short I can tell that some of the features that feel the most noteworthy to me is its availability of 2 modular batteries.

The first thing to be concerned about is the weight of the drone. The drone is not heavy enough to tackle strong winds. But in normal conditions, flying the drone should be okay.

Who Shouldn’t Buy It And Why:

- Those who want advanced camera capabilities: Although the drone comes with a 1080p HD camera, it’s still a bit limited. So if you want a great camera and don’t have a tight budget, then you can look for other drones.
