What I Like

The first thing I like the most about the HS110D is its price point. With a very minimal cost, you can get your hands on a decent level drone, test out and learn drone flying which is a pretty impressive thing. It is so cheap compared to other professional drones that even if you break it while learning as a beginner, it may not have a huge impact.

You get a 1080P HD camera to shoot which is pretty good for what you pay for purchasing the drone. Interestingly, the drone also comes with an extra battery which can be handy while flying the drone.

Moreover, this drone weighs under 250 grams which means you don’t have to worry about registering it

What I Don’t Like

The construction of the drone feels a bit flimsy to me. Also the video quality is not too impressive in low light.

Furthermore, the propeller guards don’t remain firmly affixed to the drone structure. As a result, even with a slight collision they can come out. So these are some of the potential drawbacks. But overall, it is to good a drone available at a very pocket-friendly price point

How To Fly Holy Stone HS110D

Firstly, make sure that you’re flying in a safe and legal area. Check the local regulations for drone flying in your area, and make sure that you’re flying in a space that is free from obstacles and away from people and animals.

Once you’re in a suitable location, it’s time to prepare your drone for takeoff. Begin by turning on your drone and controller, and ensure that the batteries are fully charged. Make sure that your drone is calibrated before taking off to ensure it flies properly.

To start flying, take off and hover at a low altitude to get familiar with the controls. The Holy Stone HS110D drone is equipped with both altitude hold and headless mode features to make it easier to control, especially for beginners.

To take off, push the left joystick up gently. Once the drone is hovering, use the left joystick to adjust the altitude of the drone. Use the right joystick to control the drone’s direction and speed. The right joystick will control the forward, backward, left, and right movements of the drone.

Once you’ve got the hang of flying your drone, you can start experimenting with some of the other features. The Holy Stone HS110D has an FPV (first-person view) camera that lets you see what the drone sees in real-time. Use the app on your smartphone to control the camera and take photos or record video.

Another useful feature is the altitude hold mode, which keeps the drone hovering at a set altitude without the need to constantly adjust the throttle. This is particularly helpful when taking photos or videos.

When you’re ready to land the drone, bring it down gently by pushing the left joystick down slowly. Make sure to land on a flat surface and turn off the drone and controller after landing.

Holy Stone HS110D App Usage Guide

One of the most exciting features of this drone is the accompanying mobile app, which allows you to control your drone using your smartphone or tablet.

First things first, you’ll need to download the app to your mobile device. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices, and you can find it by searching for “Holy Stone” in your respective app store. Once you’ve downloaded and installed the app, you’re ready to connect your drone.

Check out my detailed Holy Stone app guide. The guide lists every available Holy Stone app and explains which app suits which model and much more.

To connect your drone to the app, turn on your drone and controller, and then open the app on your mobile device. Tap on the “Connect” button, and the app will automatically search for your drone’s Wi-Fi signal. Once it has found your drone, tap on the signal to connect.

Once you’re connected, you’ll see a live feed of your drone’s camera on your mobile device. You can use the app to take photos and videos, and control your drone’s movement.

Final Verdict

The Holy Stone HS110D drone is a popular option for those who are looking for an affordable drone with decent features. It’s a great option for beginners and hobbyists who want to try out drone flying without breaking the bank.

One of the most notable features of the HS110D is its 1080p HD camera, which allows for relatively high-quality aerial photography and videography. It also has a 120-degree wide-angle lens, which is great for capturing more of the landscape in your shots.

Another feature that makes the HS110D a good drone is its altitude hold function. This feature allows the drone to maintain its altitude automatically, which makes it easier for beginners to control. Additionally, the drone has a one-key takeoff and landing function, which simplifies the process of starting and stopping the drone.

The HS110D also has a reasonable flight time of up to 10 minutes, which is decent for a drone in this price range. It also has a maximum transmission range of up to 328 feet, which is more than enough for most hobbyists.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that the HS110D does not come with a memory card for storing footage. You will need to purchase one separately if you want to save your photos and videos. Additionally, the drone’s stability in windy conditions, so it may not be the best choice for flying in particularly gusty weather.

All in all, if you’re looking for an affordable drone with decent features, the Holy Stone HS110D is definitely worth considering. Just keep in mind its limitations and don’t expect it to perform like a professional-grade drone.
